The Waikoloa Foundation
Check out the latest Naupaka News to learn about the Lū’au, Hawai’i’s famous dining tradition. In ancient times, it represented a break from the tradition of men and women eating separately, and allowing everyone to feast on delicacies that were (for some people) normally forbidden to eat. In modern times, the lū’au became popular with tourists, adding it to their “must-do” list while watching fire dancers and the sunset. Local families (kama’aina) look at the lū’au as a means for celebration, with the most popular being the Baby’s First Lū’au (first birthday party). Learn more about this unique tradition in the March/April edition of the Naupaka News, available throughout the Waikoloa Beach Resort. @waikoloabeachresort @waikoloagolf #waikoloafoundation ...
